Canon 7D or Nikon D300s

Hi guys! I'm looking to buy a new DSLR. I was looking at the Nikon D300s $1700 (Body only). But now we have Canon 7D $1600 (Body only) & on paper its very impressive. Is the canon as good as the stats or is it just better on paper? Video on DSLR isn't a factor for me YET.

Why is this in the Canon Corral??

The question is that of the expenditure that a camp swap will cost you. The D300s is an awesome camera, adding some useful features the venerable D300. The 7D is dynamite, and in most cases delivers on the promise, but is it worth selling your Nikon and going to the light side?
