Hey guys! Here's a pick of my bunch up for C&C, was a really fun day with a nice overcast. I was using premium gear for this day, (2 5d mark II's, 7D, 550D, 17-40 f4L, 70-200 f2.8L, 70-200 f4L, 50mm f1.2, 85mm f1.2 II, 24-70 f2.8L, 10-24tamron, 2 580ex II's).

Most of the images were actually taken with either the 17-40 or the 85mm. the 24-70 came out for a bit but 60% of the wedding was done 85mm on 5D.

great work, shucks you certainly had lots of gear didn't you!

Well # 1 i love the warmth in the image and the sharpness of the rings in his hands. Such a great shot, i personally like the gaussion blurr you've added. Overall i couldn't suggest any further improvements on the image, i like it as it is but thats to my liking and i am far from a professional!

# 2 i think i would have liked to have seen a full frame with their full bodies, and is it just me or is she slouching a bit? looks like she's pushing her tummy out into him, not sure if i like it due to the way her body looks. But the wall leads the eye to the couple, so great effort none the less!

# 3 i like the concept but the image looks cold to me, maybe a warming filter over this one too? it makes me think it was shot on a cold day.

# 4 on my screen (dodgey screen) looks like the grooms shirt and vest etc are a tad bright for me, but maybe a tighter crop? i would like it if cropped just above the lowest button on the grooms vest, but yeah once again thats my taste. Also the guys faces are very sharp, maybe soften only a little so soften the acne seen on their faces....or else they may hate the shot as it emphasises it in my opinion.

# 5 i would have liked to have seen from a lower angle down to the right more looking up at them or having you higher then them on a ladder....the angle and the lighting just doesn't look right to me, and maybe you could have got more of his shoulders in the shot rather then the empty space over beside the opera house.....

As i said i am no professional, but they were the changes i would do if it were me! but great work!!!

Some very nice images here. What was your overall impression of the 85mm f1.2 lens? Did you get to use the 50mm 1.2 much? Did you hire the gear or steal it?

I want the 85mm. I'm not saving up for one and selling my 70-200 f4L for one, the best lens suited to me personally as i love the 85mm focal length. The gear was loaned to me by Canon, no charge ;) hahaha i have connections.

These are great shots and I assume this is your first wedding?

#2 - I would reduce flash and let the ambient spill more taking more detail out of that background.

#3 - maybe also good as BW

#4 - would have been slightly better if there was more 3D look to it. (ie less direct flash)

#5 - has horizon issues. Also consider pano cropping to improve on the composition.

Lastly what sort of diffuser are you using for your flash. I think you should consider using a Gary fong or something for indoors OR a flash bracket with the fongmeister on it. The next level would be to use off camera diffused flash which needs to be held by someone who has some basic knowledge of photography.

Great work under pressure.!

#4 I don't like - you must have used a UWA lens.... certainly looks like it.... I believe you need to back off and use a more normal lens to capture this style, it makes the outer edges just too wide......

The rest, are good..... Although I will say - you need to be careful of how prominent certain features, (and in this case - noses) become with your style.
