Re: Rosemount Fashion Week - Runwaynow tell me that was not worth working for free!? great pictures for your portfolio which you would not have had otherwise - top stuff. gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Rosemount Fashion Week - Runway
Thanks again Biggerry! Yeah, these images are magic for my portfolio! the only thing I personally have to criticise on this is the 2nd image, her hands are slightly too pink for my liking..do you think i should desaturate that area just a little? Canon | Sony | Panasonic | Tamron | Sigma

Re: First Rosemount Fashion Week - CatwalkSome great photos there A bit more eye contact would have nailed it, but that is just IMHO.
I really like the perspective and the shadows on the runway shot.
Re: First Rosemount Fashion Week - Catwalk
Thanks Spesh, I'll be sure to put up some more with eye contact, Do you that i should up the contrast slightly more in the last photo to make the shadows stand out more? Canon | Sony | Panasonic | Tamron | Sigma

Re: First Rosemount Fashion Week - CatwalkGreat stuff there Marcus...talk about learning in the fast lane!
#1 misses the mark here, there is a bit of distraction caused by the loss of the eyes and the softness of that hat and face...not that it could be helped. #2 much nicer!! shame she wasnt looking down your lens! #4 the head piece gets a bit lost in the background...can you see if you can recover some more of it? #5 the models are getting a bit lost, and soft, I would probably try to selectively pull back the exposure on the models and runway so they dont become so faint. Re: First Rosemount Fashion Week - Catwalkwell done, what a great effort, i think you can proudly hold your head up high after these shots! # 3 is my favourite personally, i like the fact that the model isn't in the centre and is positioned off to the right, fantastic lighting IMO! i think the first 2 on my screen around the hats its very dark but still great looking!!
definately worth not getting paid, and to work along side of wendelt....a dream come true i bet!! well done again!! 2 x Fuji xt1,vg-xt1 grip, Fujinon xf 18-55mm 2.8-4, Fujinon xf 14mm, Fujinon 56mm 1.2.
Re: First Rosemount Fashion Week - CatwalkBig up Marc. These are great.
with the eye contact comments. But then, don't you have to be at the 'prime' position to get the eye contact? I believe Marc wasn't on the prime position. Ask Wendell how to get the prime position. Perhaps you need to befriend the models to glance at you after they do their first glance to the front? #3 looks a little underexposed. #4 one can dream about the hair seperator light... #5 would be better if they were coming toward you.
Otherwise they look great for your first attempt!
Re: First Rosemount Fashion Week - Catwalk
Thanks Cam! was hoping to hear from you hahaha I'll agree that the first one was a bit distracted.. was hoping the smile could recover visuals! haha #2 I'll agree is my personal pick of the bunch.. loved the facial reaction!! and composition was in my happy zone =) ( and yes Cam.. i pixel peeped this one HAHA) #4 I actually tried to position the headpiece so it would blend in a little more.. i was aiming more for a low key style.. but i guess i should also try one with the exposure bumped up a smidget.. ( = 1/3 stop?) #5 was something different, to seperate from the pack as Mr. Teodoro suggested, but i think the effect was a great effect, just my exposure was a bit off, do you think increasing the contrast would be sufficient on this?
Hahaha as you all might have known, Wendell is the one i look up to and get inspired by... so yes.. DEFINATELY A DREAM COME TRUE ON THAT they did end up paying me.. haha they saw the work and went, yeah we have to pay you.. haha =) thanks for you're time comment bigsarg =)
Haha i wasn't in prime position as one would notice, but i did the best I could on these, happily spent =) To be honest.. i wasn't supposed to be in catwalk, i just had connections that went, oh! hi marcus! yeah go in =) whatever show you want, just go in haha connections huh? work wonders =D I should bump #3 up slightly... will probably do so.. #4 I can only dream.. but it does bring out the green a bit more =D #5 I'll agree that it would look nice coming towards me.. but i like the idea of them confidently strutting towards the media pit, I think it flowed more fluently this way.. but next time! i'll be sure to get one on the walk back Thanks for your time surenj! must appreciated mate! Re: First Rosemount Fashion Week - Catwalkyou have captured lots of nice happy moments on the catwalk something very rare
and with good exposure, the last editorial type shot is good but i think there should be more emphasis on the models maybe you could of shot it when the models were closer to you also your tilt framing is creeping in again but your only 19 so your doing better than i did when i started Wendell Levi Teodoro

Re: First Rosemount Fashion Week - Catwalk
Hey Wendell! Thanks for the compliments of timing.. I'm sure plenty of the pit go those happy moments too =) The last image was exactly what i thought it would be.. great concept with a problem : horizon issues. I guess this will be my thing to correct and compose in areas when needed in the next month or so..expecting plenty of shooting too haha! I guess coming from a wedding background.. ( shooting weddings since i was 17), the term 2nd shooter does make it though I've been a little "too free" with the way things look and not being as critical as i am nowadays. All in all, thanks for you're time Wendell! =D like i said, give us a buzz for Sydney or Melb =D haha or.. if Malaysia is ever in the question.... Canon | Sony | Panasonic | Tamron | Sigma
