Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. GeysersI spent my usual Saturday night in and did a bit of experimentation.
I'm planning on working on refining this process some more over the next few weeks and will post up the results as I go along. Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone

Re: GeysersGadzooks! Like a mini weather system in the room. Amazing effect. Love to hear how it was done and whether you need to let the neighbours know beforehand so you don't get the fire service turning up!

Re: Geysers#2 and #4 for me. I think I would have called it weather systems or something, doesn't remind me of a geyser.

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: GeysersFascinating! Very creative!
As above 4 & 2 for me. You could add some very strong saturated colours to see how they end up. I read recently in a mag how to create nebulas and your own universe and you are on the road already.
Re: Geysers
I think you might have hit that nail fair and square, but we'll wait and see what PiroStitch has to say! I also like this in particular the last one. They are great abstracts with plenty of detail and texture to keep the eye interested.
Re: GeysersHi all,
Matt got it in one It's a messy thing to set up but essentially create your mixture and let physics take its course. I didn't need to warn the neighbours or contact the local fire brigade beforehand Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone

Re: GeysersVery interesting indeed. Can't wait for the explanation of how to set off all your smoke alarms...
Hmm... I might create an Australia with faster internet access. 100Mbits anyone?
Re: Geysers
Less likely Matt. I am pretty sure that at least one of those particles are falling down the right way...
