Yesterday I found the photography gloves I've been searching for for several years.

Very unusual and useful design indeed! I reckon anyone who lives in NZ should have one of these regardless of photography.

Thanks for sharing David.

Never mind NZ, they would be perfect in Tassie too.

Great find David.

I bought a pair of fishing gloves that are of wetsuit style material from an outdoors shop in Burnie a while back. You can choose to have fingers in the glove OR out and velcro the finger part back to the top of your hand.

Have been good when in the snow so far I've found (as you can choose which fingers you want to be frostbitten)

Also have the normal style woolly gloves and a pair of leather gloves as well which are pretty good for doing things in.

But, my disclaimer - I avoid temps below about -4 or so..... and generally don't stay out long.

I have some gloves which are quite thin but made out of Windstopper(TM) material, I think, which work a treat - not quite as good as these, but they allow almost unfettered control of the various buttons and controls on a camera. They are designed to work as inners for Goretex(TM) outers. I think I got them at a Kathmandu in Christchurch - just down the road from the pot-heads. They are tops.

This material is quite good. Breathable(perhaps not important for gloves), light weight but still keeps you warm.

I have a pair of Nomex Pilot gloves. Keep fingers warm enough, but allow dexterity.
