Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

Every time it's my turn to select PotW I say how terrific the images on the forum have been. This time I am overwhelmed at the quantity and quality of images, any one of which could be a Photo of the Week. I don't normally do this, but I'm going to show some of the outstanding images, in no particular order: And there are many more that I could include if bandwidth wasn't an issue. But there has to be a selection (I'm not using the term winner, because there are so many winning photographs!) and this is it: This is simply one of the best nature shots I have seen. The subject is beautiful, the background is sublime, the sharpness and colour are excellent, and the composition is outstanding. This image has deservedly already earned a lot of favourable comment in the original thread here. Congratulations to marc, and also congratulations to all the other fine photographers who have given us such wonderful images to look at this week.

It has been a tough week for POTW hasn't it, but I couldn't agree more with your final choice. Brilliant candid! Well done Marc.

I don't envy you at all Trevor but I agree with your final decision. Marc's shot is one of those images that completely draws you in. A stunning example of what can result when everything just comes together beautifully and there's a highly competent photographer there to capture it. For me, this is possibly the best wildlife shot I've seen on the forum.
Congratulations Marc. Stunning.
Great choice Trevor.
