Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney 2010Unfortunately, I don't get as much time to spend on here as I would like. So, I feel a little sheepish posting this, but...
My company has put together a team to walk 100km to fight poverty, starting on Friday 27 August 2010. Our team is called Strategy First Striders. Can you help by sponsoring our team? Oxfam TRAILWALKER is an endurance event where teams of four complete a 100km bush trail through some of the most rugged terrain in NSW, from the Hawkesbury (Brooklyn) to the Harbour (Mosman) in less than 48 hours. $38 will provide a food parcel that will feed a family in South Africa for 1 month plus provide candles, matches and soap; $100 is enough to provide medicines in Laos to treat curable diseases such as malaria and diarrhoea; $325 can provide training and tools to assist a Cambodian woman to set up a small business providing her regular income. Our team website, which will be updated regularly is here You can donate here(please make sure it says you are donating to Strategy First Striders). Your generous donation will be greatly appreciated and will make a big difference to the lives of those less fortunate. This is a big deal for me as I will personally benefit from an improvement in my fitness. By donating, you are giving me greater impetus to go through with this. Regards, Patrick

Re: Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney 2010Thought I would bump this as we are less than 1 week away from the Walk.
100km from Brooklyn to Mosman starting at 8:30am next Friday morning. So far, we have raised over $10,000 and have a new target of $15,000. Importantly, we want to beat Macquarie Bank who lead the Financial Services leader board - if only for competitive purposes. $10,000 is enough to drill a borehole and set up a hand pump for a well, providing a Malawian village of over 3,000 people with a reliable safe water source for drinking and cooking. We have walked about 300 km in training, and walked the track at least twice (obviously not in one go). We really appreciate any contribution people are able to make - we have had over 100 individual donors which is fantastic and means a lot. If you want to contribute anything, please visit our site below: http://www2.oxfam.org.au/trailwalker/Sydney/team/209 Regards, Patrick

Re: Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney 2010Thanks Gerry
This is the last time I bump this, but if it adds incentive to anyone, one of my clients will match anything donated by this Friday. That means we will get to at least $23k and more with your help. Regards, Patrick
