A few more from NorwayJust looking back fondly on my recent trip.
Here's a few from Norway! The midnight sun (set)...taken at approx 2355hrs. Mid north coast: Only 500m above sea level but incredibly steep climb, it was worth it. A huge thanks to Craig (alpha7) for the loan of his magical Nikon 14-24mm 2.8 lens - BEAUTIFUL! Geoff
Special Moments Photography Nikon D700, 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.4, 70-200 2.8VR, SB800 & some simple studio stuff.
Re: A few more from NorwayFantastic images, Geoff. Makes me want to visit.
I love the light in no. 2. Very soft sunshine and the composition is excellent too. Alex
Re: A few more from NorwayNos 1&4 are special. Midnight sun indeed, captured perfectly.
Did you get to visit Edvard Grieg's home etc? He is one of my favourite composers; I learned a lot of his lyrical pieces when I had time to play the piano. Ozi. President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

Re: A few more from NorwayGreat to see some landscape work from you Geoff. #1 is the standout for me. I love the simplicty of the image - makes it serene and enigmatic.

Re: A few more from NorwayGreat stuff Geoff, man you must be one buff travel person now
I love teh second image, a nicely balanced image suited for the 6x4 image size. The first image would work nicely, imo, as a pano crop too, symmetrical about the horizon and with the waterline at the left intersecting the corner of teh image. The last image leaves me wanting less sky and more stuff below - but impresive nonetheless! Looks liek some jpegs compression banding in that sky too. gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: A few more from NorwayGeoff
These are all fantastic images I know what you mean about the Nikon 14-24 it is a fantastic lens Please post more images !! Cheers Nikon boy Norman
Re: A few more from NorwayThose fjord climb pretty steeply, love the perspective of the last one.
However, the second one is the pick for me. With a bit of PP, you could really make it "sing". You captured some great light. A bit of a crop on the right and bottom, get the details to be more dramatic in the clouds, voilà thanks for sharing, cheers, André Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. Re: A few more from NorwayNorway truely is a beautiful place!!
#1 is spectacular, however the clouds up the top dont add much (shame they werent lower in the sky). Pano crop? #2 The blown out top right is a shame, but you have captured the mountains very nicely and the house in the lower right adds nice foreground interest that leads you to the strong lines that run through the image #3...love the sky #4 some of the bottom of hte image has to go, but it is a wonderful perspective! Re: A few more from Norway#2 is absolutely magical! Great light that would be quite rare to capture I reckon. As Andre suggested, fire up the PS and let the magic happen....
Re: A few more from NorwayGreat landscapes Geoff! And you did it....Norway...(I scraped, I sanded back, and might I say, not in a shy way....Oh...it doesn't matter)
