Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

The image I have chosen for PotW is the type that I really love, but don't see too often. Here it is. I love it when a picture tells a story. Rel spotted the story immediately - she posted: Great spotting - particularly taken with #3 = homeless man reading the paper where the headline is "A place called home" - almost heartbreaking ....
This image reminds me of the sort of reportage style we used to see in magazines like "Life", and it's photography at its most basic and simple - recording life and telling a story to others. Well done Matt. Here's a link to the original post.

Matt never fails to impress with the quality of his sight, and of his insight.
Trevor, superb selection.

Even if this was a setup shot, it couldn't have been done better! [Bows down]

This is a fine example of why we must not let street photography die
