Cardrona HotelI'm sure many of you will know the historic Cardrona Hotel in New Zealand's Southern Alps. It was built in the 1860s gold rush days.
Mrs tff and I spent a pleasant couple of hours having lunch there (including their house lager), and I submit this image of it, processed through Siver Efex, for your consideration: TFF (Trevor)

Re: Cardrona HotelClassic image Trevor. You could almost back off the vignette but it's got a great timeless feel to it as it is.
Re: Cardrona HotelNice shot of a good pub in the middle of nowhere.
The front of the pub does not do justice to how good it looks out the back. D700, 50 1.8, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200VR, 80-400VR, SB800 plus a lot of gadgets

Re: Cardrona Hotel
Classic composition Trevor. I'd like to see either more contrast, or perhaps fade the darker shades right down to make it look olderer and morer faded. g.

Re: Cardrona HotelTrevor the second re-incarnation is much better. [I didn't notice the contrast issue with the previous monitor!] In saying that, the old photo feel is more obvious with a washed out low contrasty photo.
There are many options for this pic. Bit of dodging and burning (slightly exaggerated)
Re: Cardrona Hoteli like the original. prefer the low contrast and warmness of it. looks lke a photo taken decades ago. wonderful feel.
