Cheap ChipsHi
I am going to buy myself a Christmas present because I have been a good boy (?) Lexar Professional UDMA CompactFlash 600X - 8GB (90MB/Sec) advertised for $138 by Cheap chips. Is this a good price and are they a reliable company, they are based in Queensland . Any comments gratefully accepted. Jeff
Re: Cheap ChipsI use them a fair bit, very fast, very reliable mate.
As for the card though, can I ask why? Does the D700 write that fast anyways? I have a couple of 8GB cards, but far more prefer the smaller 2GB cards in case of failure. I know several shooters in out chosen field who still use 512MB cards for that reason also. 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Re: Cheap ChipsThanks mate
I shoot mainly RAW so the 8gb card is a good size for up to a days shoot. I also find that the buffer in the camera sometimes slows the shots per second ,so I figure a faster write card will assist the buffer. Are you shooting Homebush and are you in need of the Terrey Hills motel ? Jeff
