Re: Rain sucks...You could always get a rain cover for the camera. I've got a Think Tank Hydrophobia for the 300mm f2.8 and a very cheap Chinese Kata clone for the rest. Haven't had them long and haven't quite got round to going out and trying them out (lots of rain still in the next few days).
They're all good. I think I prefer the last two.
Re: Rain sucks...Some nice BW photos Roozy, glad to hear your Nikon is still OK after a dip.
As for the rain, well, we had booked 3 weeks in a caravan park, starting from last Monday (first decent holiday in almost 7 years). Then came a trip to hospital last Sunday and angiogram on Tuesday (1/12), finally home Tuesday night and then it's been monsoon in Coffs ever since. Oh well, the rain is nice when it comes.... You have inpsired me to go and take some photos anyway. I'm not sure how waterproof the 5D is but we'll give it a try. President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

Re: Rain sucks...Rain doesn't suck with images like these! Well done!
I've been meaning to get out and get some rain photos. I especially like #1. Nice b&w conversions too!
Re: Rain sucks...thanks the d700 took a dip i guess about a year ago now. i dropped it in the ocean...yes, salt water...i guess it was underwater for about 5 seconds at the most. thought it was dead but it kept going. i had to take it to nikon about 3 months later cos my aperture lever gor stuck and i couldnt use my zf25, they opened it and then closed it right back up and called me. repair impossible, the whole internals are rusted. it could stop working tomorrow or next week or next year depending on when the rust got to the vital parts. well...its next year and apart from a busted aperture lever she keeps on keeping on.
note to members: do not buy used d700 from rooz. EM1 l 7.5 l 12-40 l 14 l 17 l 25 l 45 l 60 l 75 l AW1 l V3
