Pro Am camera case (free with purchase of a Pentax MZ50 film SLR! five years ago), probably only intended to store 1x camera, 1x lens, and a couple of rolls (!!) of film, now occupied by:
- Pentax *istDS with 50mm f1.7 - 70-300mm lens - 17-55mm lens - 4x SD cards - Spare set of 4x AA batteries (plus another 2x AA batteries... not sure how that will help given the camera needs four....) - SD Card Reader - Infra Red Shutter release - iRiver H340 40Gb MP3 player (how did THAT get in there, let alone fit??) .... it's expanding in a dimension I don't think the manufacturer intended.... I use the Pelican particularly when I have to fly and then transfer whatever I need into the Lowepro, which on an average day would look something like this: Canon 1D MarkIIn Canon 20D + Grip Canon 24-70L F2.8 Canon 70-200L IS 2.8 Canon 580ex Canon 1.4 TC Heap of memory cards Heap of batteries, inc spares for both bodies A few filters An IBM T60 Notebook A couple of external USB hard drives It can get pretty heavy after awhile

Most of my gear lives in a Pelican 1614 case:
- D200 w/ grip - D70s - Tokina 12-24 - Tamron 28-75 - Nikkor 18-70 - Nikkor 18-200 - Nikkor 50/1.8 - Nikkor 70-200VR - Nikkor 1.7 TC - SB-800 - Lighsphere PJ II w/ dome - Canon Ixus 400 - A veritable buttload of batteries, chargers, cables, quick release plates, filters, release cables, remote controls and whatnot - 2 containers of silica gel to keep it nice and fungus free But when I do go out and about, my most commonly packed gear (into a photo vest, think tank belt system or backpack) is: - D200 w/grip - Tokina 12-24 - Nikkor 70-200VR - Bare essentials, ie: extra cards, batteries Maybe a tripod (Benro C128) strapped to the side of the bag if I'm feeling that way inclined.

hey i notice that in your bag you have 350D + 28-105 II USM +hood
100mm 2.8 Macro + hood, just wondering how do you fined them, and if you had any photos you could show me that have been taken with those lenses, cause i just have the standard 350D with the kit lenses, and i am wanting to get some better quality lenses to get some nicer sharper pictures. thankyou for your time Phil
i use a dakine sequence. a lot of you probably aren't familiar with it... here are some shots. mine is the camo version. i really like it, only fault is that you have to take the pack off completely to open it (the access to the camera block is on the backside of the pack)
d70s or d70 20mm f2.8 50mm f1.8 18-70mm kit lens 70-300mm G 3x pocketwizard plus IIs 1x sb600 (just for on camera ttl) 2x sunpak 383 or 2x sunpak 555 (or mix n match) depending on the plans lots of sync cords n stuff for the flashes and pws 2x cheap tripods for flash use (this often changes, they often break from being run into or blown over... hahah) i think thats it. shortly adding a 10.5mm to the mix, as well as 1 or 2 more pws. after that... wouldnt mind a few more primes and perhaps a 80-200 f2.8 orsomething. at times i also carry a spare body (i have 1xd70 1xd70s), and may soon start carrying around my soon to be acquired (monday i believe) nikon f4....
Hi Phil, The 28-105 is pretty good, but I find it to be a bit variable. the 100mm Macro is fantastic - Tho it can be hard to use at times because of macro DOF. I use it mainly for fish tank shots and portraits when I have the space (you need to be pretty far away at 100mm). Fish tank shot (100mm Macro): Kangaroo Island (28-105):
I like the size similarity between the air rocket and the camera body

Re: What's In Your Bag?Now that I think of it I need a new bag.
14-24, 24-70, 70-200vr, 300 F4, 50 1.8, 16-85 and a SB900 flash. My bag is a small Lowepro something or other (maybe mini trekker 200). On a good day I can fit a D200 with 70-200 in the middle and the widey and the 24-70 either side but it is a tight fit. I really need a new bag....and a new camera...Thanks for reminding me. Re: What's In Your Bag?Well, seeing this thread has been rejuvenated and has some legs, I thought I'd post about me new bag.
As sponsorship from the good folk at Maxwell, I recently got a Lowepro Pro Trekker 300 AW for free. The pack itself is great, quality build, and seems to have been designed by photographers, rather than bean counters. A bit about the pack, it has room for a laptop up to macbook size, hydration pocket on the side (holding up to 1.5 litres inside a waterproof pouch), attachments for tripods/monopods/walking poles/ski poles. Plenty of internal storage for cards, batteries and plenty of padded dividers. More info on the pack here: Lowepro Pro Trekker 300 AW Inside mine just now I have: 2x D700 (with grips) Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 OS Version Sigma 24-70mm 2.8 Sigma 15mm 2.8 FE Sigma 12-24mm 4.5-5.6 2x SB800 1x SD8A 2x Pocket Wizards Net Book & 2 External HD's Cleaning Gear Camel Back Hydration System Very convenient and comfortable pack, seems to be aimed at the adventure/bush walking photographer. Supposedly will also hold a 300mmm 2.8 inside. The larger versions, the 400 & 600 AW will hold those focal length primes respectively. 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Re: What's In Your Bag?When I go out and about I only take, gps unit, the camera with the 105 macro or the 24-70 attached, and the flash.
Camera lense, gps, and flash fit nicely into the lowerpro toploader zoom aw. A lens pen, batteries and spare cards live in the toploader. Have hardly used a tripod since starting to utilise flash more often but will take it sometimes if in the truck and going near a sunrise or set location. If going away in the truck I will take most of my gear in a pelican rip off. Works a treat. Regards Colin

What's In Your Bag?Marcus, do you know if the Lowepro CompuTrekker range has been replaced?
They're listed on the Lowepro site, but no one seems to stock them. B&H doesn't list them and Digital Camera Warehouse's site says they're not available.
Re: What's In Your Bag?Answered my own question... It has been replaced with the Pro Runner range.
Re: What's In Your Bag?Three years on and decidely older I’m changing all of my gear and at this time have a EP-1 in one pocket and an EP-2 in the other.
My Nikon gear will be up for sale shortly except for the lenses as I have an adaptor for the Olympus to enable their use. Chris
