Horses for Courses

I got a d7000 today thanks to cameron at fotoreisol

first impressions is that it has pretty much all the features that im used to in a pro dslr like a d3
but its more compact

im using this as my travel camera as if i did loose it wouldn't set me back so much compared to loosing a d3 and a pro lens

actually the small form factor suits me for the reportage work that i do because at least this time i wont be shooed away
from a site or situation because i have a big camera. at least in public situations id be treate like a enthusiast or a tourist.

would like to hear other peoples thoughts on this camera

I look forward to seeing how you go with the camera. Make sure you give us a update in the coming weeks.

anyone know how to assign a function to the multiselector centre button to preview the image at 100% (image preview magnification function)

i like the quiet shooting mode and the 2 extra customizable scene setting dials

apart from that its like a miniturised d3
similar focus point multiselector 2 card slots
good iso handling at 1600 qt optimal exposure it looks clean

similar menu items
with added picture control function, love the black and white mode

its just slower and no AFD drive
