Jeff Carter exhibition

Postby Matt. K on Wed Jan 12, 2011 6:37 pm

This exhibition is currently running at the state Library and is a must see if:
A. You love black and white photography
B. You were born in the late 1940s or in the 50s
C. You love great photography.
D. You love the Australian beach and outback
E: You get nostalgic.

Go see it....it's free....and here's the clincher...in a small softly well lit marquee is the equipment he used to take the photographs and process the film...2 battered Nikon F cameras with the brass showing....a small collection of lenses and a stainless steel developing tank. Brought tears to my eyes. Gee...he even photographed groups of young children in back alleys. You'd be arrested if you did that today.

The images are superb!
Regards

Thanks for this Matt, I ticked all the boxes so I guess I should make an effort and go and see it.

Good find Matt,

will check it out. For those that may be wondering, the exhibition ends on Feb 20.
