Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Fisrtly on behalf of the DSLRUsers Team, I would like to thank Gerry (biggerry) for his time and effort in selecting POTW. Alrighty, POTW 19th-25th January! Firstly, the short list:- Rodney's (Remorhaz) image of St Marys Cathedral reflected in the pool was a stand out and demonstrates that during that golden hour of sunrise you can take nice shots of things other than landscapes viewtopic.php?f=18&t=40542Peters (Stubbys) Whale oil separator plant, this location oozes character and its great to see images from the trip that are not icebergs and penguins viewtopic.php?f=18&t=40547Drum roll please.. Alex's Topaz Adjust image of a young Thai man (assumption) hauling a trolley down some back alley in Bangkok made me look twice - the processing did not come across as overdone, the composition is simple yet has quite a few elements, some which I suspect were by chance, nonetheless add to the image and as mentioned, makes me look twice. The dodgy wiring, the crazy looking window bars and the dirty walls just cry out a typical inner city in Thailand. The posters on the wall add extra intrigue, obviously of a scantly clad woman, but are they posters of a local club? is the man hauling some strange box of products to the local club bananas maybe? anyway, all serious comments aside, I like this shot. Top stuff Alex. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=40539

I didn't see the original post either.
It's an interesting image though, and I like it.
Good pick Gerry, and congrats to Alex.

Great shot. I wonder what's in the boxes? And where is he going to? I like photos that paint a story. Well done with the POTW.

Wow! I just noticed this. Thank you very much Gerry and dslrusers! There were so many fantastic shots posted in the past week that I feel very surprised mine got chosen. This particular photo was taken during an outing to the old Chinatown in Bangkok with a local Bangkok photoclub. They also run a forum www.photographythailand.com/forum which I have been a member of for the past few years, but it was the first time I was able to meet a lot of members in person. Thanks again Alex
