Re: WindsweptNice shot Trevor.
Any chance of bumping up the highlights? The shadows look good but it seems to be a bit lacking in contrast. 7D, 60D, 70-200mm f/4LIS, 17-50mm f/2.8, 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, 50mm f/1.4, 100mm f/2.8 Macro, 580EX II
Re: WindsweptThanks - I think that you have made a valid point.
I did the B&W conversion in SilverFX, so I revisited it and played with the algorithm a tad. TFF (Trevor)

Re: WindsweptWay better
Was the patch in the clouds blown in camera? Would be great to get more details there if possible 7D, 60D, 70-200mm f/4LIS, 17-50mm f/2.8, 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, 50mm f/1.4, 100mm f/2.8 Macro, 580EX II
Re: WindsweptDo you have the color version for us to see?
Re: WindsweptLooking good there!
I would try to bring back a bit of detail in that cloud patch...in the 2nd rework you seem to have lost some detail Cameron

Re: WindsweptGreat title to the photo. I do like the revised version better. I'm trying to think, where is Lake Wanaka? After 16 trips to NZ, you'd think I would remember! I suppose it's age.....

Re: WindsweptFirstly, thanks to all who have commented - I think I'm starting to get somewhere after taking the suggestions on board.
Here is the colour original. I thought that it was fairly bland, and started doing B&W conversions, I thought that the image gained much more power. Here is the third iteration of the B&W, and it looks a lot better. Click to see larger. Ozi, Wanaka is in pinot country, Central Otago - about an hour's drive north-east of Queenstown. TFF (Trevor)

Re: Windswept
Very nice - the best of the lot (so far ) 7D, 60D, 70-200mm f/4LIS, 17-50mm f/2.8, 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, 50mm f/1.4, 100mm f/2.8 Macro, 580EX II
Re: Windswept
Re: WindsweptAgree...the third iteration is by far the best.
Some very fine pinot from that area, and somewhere around the lake is Rippon which is building an awesome music facility as well as winery. Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Re: Windswept
We toured wineries and there are some special places and wines. Rippon was closed because of the construction that you mentioned. It overlooks the lake, and it is going to be a superb venue when completed. TFF (Trevor)
