Adelaide Fringe picsA few pics from the Adelaide Fringe Festival. As usual there are too many shows and not enough time.
The Garden of Unearthly Delights This is their "scary" pose. They did the Brokeback Mountain pose after... From Sarina Del Fuego's show Noir Revue. As usual for burlesque I wished 'let there be light', and there was none. From the Peaches 'n' Gin show Burlesque Upon a Time
Re: Adelaide Fringe picsSome nice shots of the Fringe. I have been waiting for Tony/Fozzie to post a few of theirs.
Have you tried correcting the WB in the third? I had a go, but it's really hard. It would look good in B&W. Daniel Nikon D4, D2Xs, D70, Nikkors and Sigmas lenses from 10 to 400mm

Re: Adelaide Fringe pics
Ditto
While it would look good n B&W, please don't touch the wb in this one. This how the stage lighting would have been for this scene, and it looks great as it is. messing with the wb would totally destroy the feel of the image, IMHO. g.

Re: Adelaide Fringe picsKev, a good range of shots that sum up what we have been seeing. Man that burlesque shooting is hard, we are having to go back and do a re-shoot tomorrow of burlesque buetuies because the venue was so dark last week. As for WB there is none in these venues, they do not use white light at all - it is all coloured spots and Kevin has done an excellent job with that shot.

Re: Adelaide Fringe picsExcellent shots Kevin
- love the new costume and you've done a sensational job captuting the light and showing it off DebT DebT

Re: Adelaide Fringe picsKevin,
An excellent cross section of shots from the Adelaide Fringe 2011 Especially like the lighting of #3 and post processong - From Sarina Del Fuego's show Noir Revue I am looking forward to shooting Peaches 'n' Gin show Burlesque Upon a Time...another top shots of an excellent artist fozzie
When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
Re: Adelaide Fringe picsThanks for the comments all. Even after shooting heaps of burlesque, it's still way hard. Fast movement and no light is a killer. Might be time to rent a D3s and 200 f2?
Pics from the Christchurch Earthquake Benefit last night (thanks Big V ) are coming, more theatre and burlesque during the week, and then Iron Maiden/Slayer/Melvins/Queens of the Stone Age on Saturday topped off with Kinky Kaos late Saturday night. Apart from the lack of sleep, festival season is awesome!
Re: Adelaide Fringe picsReally liking the last 2. Great light and mood!
Looking forward to more.

Re: Adelaide Fringe picsThat third image is just sublime - the tonality and the composition work wonderfully together. And I agree with Gary - leave the WB as is.

Re: Adelaide Fringe picsNice set of images. I like the first image but...
Re: Adelaide Fringe picsI reckon the last image is very tidy, maybe a tighter crop to remove a few heads but other than that, nice pose, nice lighting and spot on exposure.
Looks like a great event! gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
