My Boy Mitch With 17-55 Nikkor Lens.F8 / 1/60th sec Bounce SB800 ( Slight Crop ) ( No USM ) Now I'm starting to take the sweet little lady for a drive ( The 17-55 that is ) Mic.
Mic,
There is something about this portrait I don't quite like. I think that the crop is a little wrong for some reason, or out of balance, like you either cut out too much from the left hand side, or not enough from the right hand side, or too much from the bottom or something. Maybe it's a little soft, I can't put my finger on it. I do like the light in his pupils though. I expected to find a picture of Mitch holding your 17-55, or taking pictures with or something.
Mitch by Mic - sounds like a good title for a song
I tend to agree with Dave on this Mic - it is a lovely portrait but the crop or postioning is not quite right. But, I am sure you will be taking many thousands more of Mitch (Mitchell?) Chris

Hmmmm, I don't know, maybe it's a too square of a crop or image too big ?
I like it myself, but then again, I biased Thanks for the comments, Mic.
mic, I think the expression is great, but I think there is not enough dynamic range. The grey tone of Mitch's skin is dominant. Have you tried it lighter? Maybe slap a curve on it?
