Clipsal 500That time of year again but this year an over zealous security guard in the pit area spoilt the party a little bit by trying to tell me that I could not use my 400mm 2.8 lens as it was "too big". When I informed him that there were no restrictions at the Adelaide race he then told me that he had spoken to his supervisor, well he did not nor his supervisor did not take it too well when they were again told, albeit this time with far more assertiveness that they were both wrong. They then tried the old intimidation routine of following me around for bit, but I continued to shoot and remind them of the TOC on the ticket and did offer to stop shooting if they personally refunded my 85 dollars. Eventually they gave up but it did spoil the day some what. Anyway here are a few from the day..

Bloody bullies .... And then you were harassed? I would be calling the organisers and lodging a formal complaint. Moreso about the harassment, than anything else. That can really leave a sour taste in one's mouth. Glad you had a good day anyway, and managed to grab some good shots. Did you manage to complete the oil change on the jet as it flew over your head? g.

Take it as a victory over the knuckle scrapers that you got to do what you came for. Regards, Patrick

Re: Clipsal 500I'm sorry to hear about the yellowshirts. They really are becoming a problem.
Nice shots as always. I was inside when the FA-18 went around, and you certainly couldn't miss it. I've just uploaded my shots from yesterday. Post processing takes too long... Daniel Nikon D4, D2Xs, D70, Nikkors and Sigmas lenses from 10 to 400mm
