German advance patrol in WWII, unknowingly straying into an ambush by Russian soldiers. The first shot from the Russian sniper drops a man. The German NCO identifies the threat...

So the SS have landed. An interesting point are the boots. SS soldiers did not wear jack boots in action. Love the pics tho’. The guy wearing the forage hat is actually wearing the correct combat boots.

Nice. not often we get a set telling a 'story' like this.

I would be tempted to add a bit of noise and 'age' the images a bit more, but thanks very much for sharing!

Those guys are a long way from the Western Front. They must have had their map upside down.

Nice set!

Interesting tones in the grass. What color were they? Looks almost IR like.

Were there any real explosions etc? Would love to see some pics of the Russians as well.

The grass was green... and brown.

The Russians were hiding in long grass to the left of my position. They were out of range (for photographers). The Germans regrouped after the ambush and chased them away. We don't have any of those heavy snowfalls here, so the Germans won this battle!

There were lots of explosions. The rifles and pistols were firing blanks, and the Germans threw a couple of grenades that were quite loud and threw up lots of flames and smoke.

Good fun!
