Helios MC 81H 50mm f/2

With everyone getting new bodies, I think that separate section for you to proudly display your first image from your new acquisition is in order.

This applies to brand new bodies, as well as bodies that are simply newly acquired by you.

Picked up this little beauty at the Camera Markets. Small, light, well built, sharp and contrasty...but most importantly...NATIVE Nikon Mount!!

However, it appears that working against the light it loses contrast...will experiment with lens hoods to see if it gets any better though.

Big thanks to Gerry, whom I still owe some money to for this lens

Thanks Suren....I will have to point out that the Nikkor has a few advantages....auto focus and an absence of flare problems

Looks like a nice lens. Look forward to seeing other pics from it.

Perhaps it's due to some coating inside?

I suspect it will be either a coating or internal reflection issue.....will try to get out and about with it and a lens hood and see if I can get any improvement....do have to work out what the filter thread is though (shouldn't be hard, just have to get around to doing so though)

Nice lookign lens Cameron, looks nice and contrasty straight outta the box and looks like you do not even have a lens on the front of the camera its that small! You can't go wrong for what you paid for it too.

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
