RIP Margaret Olley

Many of you will be aware of who Margaret Olley is.

Sadly, we lost her this morning.

A sad day indeed, I did not know her work or much about her, however there is no doubt she certainly had her head screwed on right, especially given the quote, which I heard on abc radio.

true - i wish i had known who she was better - i remember her recent archibald portrait but bothing clicked back then, only then reading up after her death did I start to understand and know.

I can recall reading, at the time of the recent Archibald announcement, that she considered that the two winning portraits of her effectively bookended her life.

And thus it was.
