Re: InterestingI wonder though, whether, in a dusty situation, if this would really keep dust off your front element? I suspect that effective sealing between the leaves might be an issue.

Not sure about the dust sealing though. Might be useful in a seaspray type of situation. One of the niggles would be the slight jagged edges (when closed) rather than a smooth rounded border of the cap which might get stuck or rip into your bag when you push and pull out your camera.
