True - although one could say we really need to wait till 10:42 for the real effect (assuming of course that leap years, daylight savings and time change differences don't come into play).

And in commemoration of this event, let's all have a get together: brunch plus photoshoot.

Saturday next week, August 13. 10:30 am-ish at La Perouse.

I'm reliably informed that there's a good fish and chip/eggs and bacon shop down there, so that we can meet, eat, and then shoot.

Who's in?

Possibly actually explaining what is going on might actually encourage newer members and lurkers to pipe in and turn up - initial impression feels like its a bit of a old boys club.

I would be keen to couple this with a sunny sunrise in that vincity, possible the seaward side of cruwee bay. It would be nice to tee off breaky a bit earlier (say 9:30 ish) to enable it to be a half day affair and back to the grindstone before lunch - however happy to leave it for popular vote.

Which breaky joint did you have in mind? I recommend the boathouse one, I recall myself, Ray and few others had a good breaky there. I strongly oppose the one suren, cam and myself visited a bit further up the road a month ago - that was crap.

What?

Let people into the fact that it's this forum's birthday and that all are welcome to join us?

Why should we do that?

9:30? It's the weekend, and I'm officially a grumpy old man. :)

I've not eaten at either, so I'm leaving up to others to advise of the best place.

I called by Kurnell a few weeks ago though, and the loop road had been closed as a through road.

Is the boathouse one one of the two buildings at the water's edge in the image you've posted?

I urge all to make an effort and support the forum on this very special day.....second only to the Queens Birthday.

Matt, you may well be correct but we had some awful food there. Took one hour to give us our burgers and they were absolute crap. I would stay away. Infact, I need find out the name of the place, so I can put it on Eatability.

Suren, on a completely different tack, how do you rate Chrome vs Firefox (for Mac?).

Ozi, I don't have a Mac.
For PC, I am now using Frefox 6 (portable) and Chrome ?can't rem version (portable). I find that Chrome is faster these days but previously firefox was faster. Chrome has more extensions available than before but still is NOT color managed like FF. Even in FF, you need to turn on the color management.

I prefer chrome for a netbook as the windows don't have a border so doesn't cost screen real-estate.

Go portable apps!!
