AF area mode problemHi peoples,
I've been shooting a lot using the Auto programs such as landscape, portrait and full auto. The problem I'm having is that the AF area mode that I select (single area) keeps reverting back to closest subject when I change between programs or turn the camera off and on again. Is there a way that I can change the default settings so that I don't have to continually go back and change the AF area mode?
My advice would be to take the extra step and use the M, A and S modes. In doing this the versatility of the D70 will come to the fore, as will your versatility in the use of the camera.
Just my opinion and sorry for not answering the question posted Chris

The answer to your question is there is no easy way. As confronting as it might be, try the A or S modes - they're almost auto (you control one of aperture and shutter and the camera controls the other so it's semi-auto) Peter

Thanks guys,
I love shooting with the S & S modes. Just a shame there isn't a software patch to fix up the AF memory problem in Auto.
