Gluepot

Postby darklightphotography on Thu Aug 11, 2011 10:38 pm

Hey guys, there's a workshop on nature photography going on again at Gluepot Reserve in a few weeks. I've done this one before, but I'm going again to get some long lens technique happening.

Details here http://www.riverland.net.au/gluepot/photocourse.pdf

With all the rain this year I feel a bit more confident that there will be actual birds there this time :)

Kev, did you notice the date? Same weekend as the studio shoot Avril is organising. Which day do you want to do Cleland, Sat or Sun this weekend?

Turns out the models would prefer a different date anyway, so Gluepot it is. Wonder how fast I can get a Wimberly head here?

I had no idea what Gluepot was is or where, however it looks like a awesome location..

fyi for those also wondering:

General Information about Gluepot Reserve

Gluepot Reserve is Birds Australia's first publicly funded Reserve. Located in the semi-arid South Australian mallee it is considered by many to be one of the crown jewels in the nation's reserve system. This 50,000 ha large area of virgin mallee scrub contains no less than 6 nationally endangered bird species and a unique flora and fauna adapted to the harsh conditions. Purchased in 1997, Gluepot is rapidly becoming a centre for scientific research. Its accessibility means it is one of the few areas in Australia where birdwatchers can relatively easily observe otherwise hard-to-find species

Also the price for the workshop looks to be very cheap indeed! This would be $999 in Sydney.
