Just for Something Different...Not Ducks, Swans this time.
http://users.bigpond.net.au/oznexus/swan/oznexus.htm I have a pixspot account, however I did it this way for dialup users, the thumbs are less than 10kb, the medium size pics are 70kb and the large ones are 1MB. (Each linking to a new page off the first). Taken with a Fuji S1 Pro, 200mm SMC Takumar lense, manual mode. Exposure from memory was 1/750th of a second, F11, ISO400. Just having some fun with the Nikon AI to M42 adaptor I got whilst I save for some better glass. (Might as well use the 10 odd pentax lenses I have sitting around here).
Beautiful pic of a beautiful bird.
A little history - in the UK there are only 2 crimes that are punishable by death; one is for traitors and the other is for killing a swan! The Queen owns all swans and this law dates back centuries and has never been revoked. Chris

I know, I know, I get the death penalty for mentioning the "F" work on these forums. I apolegise for not being able to afford a D70. However I think the nikon lense mount on this DSLR makes it great for collecting lenses now and investing a new body later. (Apart from fancy VR lenses out of price range for a little while yet)
Well guilty of the first crime, but not the second. Thanks Sirhc55.
Nice Pic... i was interested in what looked like a 44-gallon drum that the swan was standing on.
Oh, and when I zoomed into your 1Mb image, I also noticed that your sensor needs a good clean. Lots of tiny bunnys hopping around on top of the blue-water. Alistair
Tell me about it (I should do some healing brush work in PS), it was second hand (again budget constraints). Looking buy some pecs pads and eclipse fluid as of next week. Local "wetlands" seems to attract garbage from uncivilised types, car bodies, drums, logs, rocks etc. The blue water really shows up those dust bunnies better than the sky.
Thanks for the feedback.
I like the second pic, the tighter cropping and the reflection really add to the bird. Thanks for showing.
Steve.

Love the second including the full reflection complets the shot and the sharpness of the head in the reflection is beautiful
