The joys of a compact camera: Samsung EX1

Just as a followup to my post earlier, I took this camera along with me whilst i was up in the Blue Mt's over the last few days (showing Katrina's mum around) and found that with the addition of the filter adaptor and a C-POL I didnt need my D300 (which spent most of the time in my bag unused).

I used this mode for a total of one photo on my camera. After that, the novelty wears off. In the Samsung, can you preview the effect (IE liveview) before taking the shot??

I don't think this has really worked - when I first looked at it without reading the title I was thinking WTF what's happened to the image and why was it so blurry - I don't think this was the best composition for this effect - Not that I've ever used this mode before or done a tiltshift effect thingy but I think you needed to be up high perhaps and shooting down on a scene?

as Suren says - legendary steady hands award I think  BTW I think you could have gone for a little more water movement - perhaps another stop

With the three sisters shot there's something (the rail perhaps) oof in the bottom right which you could crop or clone - and maybe even the light box on the left.

Unfortunately the sky went to flouro on this one - given it's poking through everywhere I'm not sure what you could do with this one - perhaps desaturate the purple/blues? Man those flowers have come on nicely since my girls and I were there back in the last school holidays

Thats worked very well and the cloud formations are very nice.

I suggest asking a damsel to run down that path wearing a flowing white robe.... I reckon that would distract away from the sky.

I can get a preview on the screen of this effect, and I do agree that this was not a great example of its usage, but it was the best attempt I have managed to date. I will def try to shoot down on something next time, though.

The camera has a pretty good image stabiliser, combined with the small sensor size and wide angle.....it isn't as hard to hold at 1/2 sec....if I had brought a tripod then I would have stretched out the exposure more....next time.

I am happy with everything but the sky in this one...maybe it will have to go into CNX2 and have a selective edit on the sky....there was a lot of flowers around, but at the same time a lot of them were past their prime as well...and if I had not gone to the Everglades I would not have missed my D300 at all.
