Re: Cheap wireless timer/intervalometer remotesNice - looks like the same body as my cheap $20 remote but with wireless. Pity they don't seem to have a D90/D7000/etc compatable cable.

Re: Cheap wireless timer/intervalometer remotes
That shouldn't be an issue Rodney. Just have a look at their store...
Re: Cheap wireless timer/intervalometer remotes
Pretty sure I did - I searched for wireless and only found ones compatible with some of the other Nikon models. D600, D7000, Nikon/Sigma/Tamron Lenses, Nikon Flashes, Sirui/Manfrotto/Benro Sticks

Re: Cheap wireless timer/intervalometer remotes
Can it do stuff the D7000's intervalometer can't? Apart from the wireless remote bit, of course. Cheers Steffen. lust for comfort suffocates the soul

Re: Cheap wireless timer/intervalometer remotes
From memory (I havn't looked at my D7000 or remote manuals lately) I believe: - you can set a start delay on the remote - you can create unusual intervals I think - like delay X secs, take a shot for Y secs then delay Z secs and take another shot and repeat - you can use it as a remote release (with a shutter hold lock for long exposures) - this works without needing batteries in the remote (at least for the wired remote) - it's much easier to setup the remote than the intervalometer on the D7000 for quick things - e.g. to do a timed long (bulb) exposure - e.g. X min exposure What I wish it also had - bracketing (change exposure settings - e.g. Shutter, ISO, Aperture) D600, D7000, Nikon/Sigma/Tamron Lenses, Nikon Flashes, Sirui/Manfrotto/Benro Sticks

Re: Cheap wireless timer/intervalometer remotes
Same here. I've been wishing for this for years. That unit is about $300 currently. Hopefully it will drop in price.
Re: Cheap wireless timer/intervalometer remotes
They'll bring it out soon though. I am surprised that they don't have it!
Re: Cheap wireless timer/intervalometer remotes
The D7000 can do that as well.
I don't think that's possible on the D7000. Looks like intervals have to be uniform across the whole sequence.
That's obviously not something the D7000 can do (by definition), I've already have a $3 cable remote for that.
Can't compare the ease of use, since I haven't used the interval remote.
The D7000 does that. Plus flash and Active D-Lighting bracketing. So, unless one needs non-uniform intervals or finds the D7000 built-in intervalometer hard to use there is really not much reason to bemoan the lack of a D7000 compatible interval remote. Cheers Steffen. lust for comfort suffocates the soul
Re: Cheap wireless timer/intervalometer remotes
Note by AEB on the remote I mean the ability to do bracketing like the pro bodies - e.g. 9 images at 1 stop intervals or even more 30 images at 1/3 stop intervals
Note I already have the wired intervalometer remote (and prefer it to the built in capabilities on the D7000 - simply for ease of use - especially for the $20 it cost) - my bemoaning was the lack of a D7000 version of the wireless model D600, D7000, Nikon/Sigma/Tamron Lenses, Nikon Flashes, Sirui/Manfrotto/Benro Sticks
