King Parrot (great spot to get close!)I decided to take a trip up to the Dandenong Ranges today as I'd read about this place called Grant's Picnic Ground. Apparently you can get close to the birds. Well they were right! I had a fantastic time and will definitely be going back. Kipper...that 70-200VR would be perfect. I was using my 80-400VR.
Get there early to avoid the tourist buses! Nicole

Nicole,
That's a really nice image... For future reference, I'd probably prefer to have seen slightly more of the bird, or failing that, slightly less bokeh at the top and more of the lower half of the bird... One day I'll have to get one of those VR thingies... Cheers, John

Nicole - well done. Tremendous colour and sharpness. More birds the better, and they do not have to be feathered .
ta ta for now, fozzie
When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
