5D III in the wild?Have a look at this ... noting also the prototype 200-400 and 600mm glass.

Although the 200-400 will be in the $8000 price bracket.

They will be very different lenses. The 100-400 is a lens that's closer in style to the Nikkor 80-400. It's a great lens, but slower optically. The 200-400 will be the comparable lens to the Nikkor 200-400, which is fast and brilliant. The Canon though has a built in teleconverter, which should make for some interesting shooting options. Price wise, I'd not expect any change from Au$12K. g.

Shikes! 12K sounds like a reasonable number for the weight of the lens and the weight you will lose, if you carry this thing all day....
