Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Thanks for great company. The weather was mostly friendly...

As usual for your C&C.

This one is my favourite and I plan to print it and give it as a present.... Any tips for post?Image

Peeking over the edge of a lookout. I wasn't game to stick out my camera over the edge like Gerry did.

Thanks for Gerry's bag of tricks, we got to light paint a little. This is Colin's handiwork....

Hi Suren - the images aren't displaying for me (not in the post - but I can right click and open them individually)

#1 - I reckon this needs some sort of lift - it's very "brown" if you know what I mean. I'd probably add quite a bit of vibrance and maybe some clarity and hope the greens come up a bit more - just need to be careful they don't go nuclear. Maybe also darken that bottom left corner a little

#2 - Sorry Suren - I think Gerry's had quite a bit more impact. Possibly because you can see the nearby rock at the bottom. You might also crop a small amount (1cm) off the right side. I also think it needs a little more contrast to make the details pop more

#3 - I didn't really like the painted ground in many of the other shots but in this I think it really works, that thin strip of black and the bottom and the inconsistent wave of light across the bottom - nice. The spinning colour wheel and coloured wiggles also good too :)

I reckon the first has the best compo of all I have seen   a little love in the PP side of things may give it a bit of extra kick, however I think it also works fine just the way it is, i guess it just depends on what the end result one is looking for too.

THe wennie falls image is quite good and gives a much different perspective to mine even though it is at the exactly same spot, you get much more sense of scale in your i think. I agree with Rodney with teh cropping a bit from teh right, however you then have to make teh difficult choice where to take the extra (top or bottom) from to keep the aspect ratio, both which I think adds quite a bit atm.

you probably know what I think of teh light painting stuff, this one is quite good and probably the best roundhouse that Colin did, teh only bummer is the dragging of teh lights after the spin.

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

Referencing Gerry's links, the second can be improved by cropping at the bottom, just below the runoff to the right. Otherwise good composition.

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935.

The first image of the waterfall is the winner in this set. The rest don't do much for me. I would suggest to increase the contrast and adjust the curves a bit more so that it gives a bigger impact.

Thanks Gerry for your example. See below for my attempt.

Here is my take taking into account your suggestions.

#2 on closer inspection may have some camera shake! Off to the bin I guess.
