Week 54I finished my 52 week street visions project a few weeks ago at the end of 2011 but I still like going out and shooting some street photography when the mood takes me so I'll endeavour to continue to post some street images as they come along - albeit at a much less frequent rate One from the central station end of the CBD

Week 55 Some from North Sydney this week... I liked these tables and benches and the way the early morning light was hitting them... When I first took this shot I was thinking black and white and I liked the way the "infinitely" tall building on the right juxtaposed the green open space on the left with the row of tall trees and the smooth path down the middle - I just waited for an appropriate subject to be in the right position in my frame and snap... However during post processing I created this colour versions of the image (note - these aren't the original colours) which I really liked (possibly more than the mono version) - but I'd like to let you the viewer decide - which do you like the best?... and here's a monochrome conversion I've done

Week 56 Another from North Sydney - this time some architectural street imagery. I came back to this shot on consecutive days - the first I only had my 17-50mm and it wasn't wide enough to do what I wanted to do. I came back with my 12-24mm on and took this - it started life as a handheld HDR (3 shots at 0, -2 and +2EV) which I then processed into monochrome and was really happy with this particular conversion - particularly the really glassy finish (which the building had with glossy tiles and sparkling glass and chrome)

Week 57 - Help me Choose?... Taken on Australia Day in the city just across the road from St Mary's Cathedral. People everywhere but I felt I could find an image here - I took a number of slightly different compositions but liked this one the best. I've processed this to monochrome in two different ways (same source image). Personally I like the first (darker) better but it may be too dark I'm not sure - I've included a much more stark high key rendition as well so I'll let you the viewer decide - which do you like better?

I agree with your instincts. The darker is better and I also agree it could use a slight bump in those mid tones especially.

With your first question I like the colour version better as you can see more in the frame I like the lady siting on the retaining wall on the phone the girl on the grass and the reflections in the columns.
The second I like the dark one too I agree with Rooz.

Week 58I was having ice cream with my children on George St in the heart of the city one day when this couple were putting on a little show with and near some sculpture on the street just next to where we were sitting. Week 59Had another training course in North Sydney so here are a few more from that location (with the 8mm UWA)... unfortunately I'm not particularly happy with either of these ...

Week 64A pair of monochrome architecturals this week - one old and one new... quite keen to hear what people think of this second one (composition and/or processing) - suggestions/comments/disdain/otherwise...

#2 Can't say I like the processing. The halo around the masonic lodge coupled with the dark streak down the corner just say "Bleah" to me. I may come back in a day or two with a more detailed or even different opinion. This is just first impression.
