POTW - 8th Feb., 2012...

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

POTW - 8th Feb., 2012...

I have selected this image by Matt. K, named ‘Streetscape’ from his series ‘This weekends favourite’, as it displays the contrast from the old – fence and building, with the new – aluminium light and street name pole, and further enhanced by providing horizontal and vertical lines completing the composition. It also displays excellent use of depth of field and post processing.

The point with PotW is that it is not designed to be the BEST picture of the week - just one that the selector thinks is interesting or remarkable or unusual.
