Reeds and the ChiefI took this photo today and I'm pleased with it. I've posted some average photos lately so I thought I'd post one that I thought was pretty good. Please tell me if you can see anything that I can do better. The only thing is that maybe I could crop the left side a little.
I saw a couple of photos this style that I liked on Flickr so I found this spot and grabbed the photo. It looks much better larger but I thought the file would be too large. Thanks for comments. (EDIT) Made it level and reposted it on the site a little smaller so that the larger picture wouldn't be so enormous. I think to really appreciate this viewed larger is better. love the contrast of your grass in this image.
i think your level/hor is a bit tilted? maybe perhaps shoot from an even lower perpertive? Life's pretty straight without drifting

Thankyou. Didn't even notice it (I usually do but I was a little enamoured with the reeds in this case).
Thanks Redline, I agree it could probably look a little more dramatic at a lower perspective...must keep in mind for next time.
Great image and a fine view. If you could improve it further i would reckon a Panorama of the mountains would look awesome.
Steve.

Nice shot! I would call it a swag's eye view - in othr words the view you get when cracking one eye open prior to crawling out of the swag too late in the morning, due to causes best left to the imagination....
Cheers What's another word for "thesaurus"?
Dooda. Great shot and the colours work really well. So far as your comments on your other recent posts - I've quite liked a few of them (the sky reflected in the puddle is a great example). Don't be so hard on yourself.
And just in case you don't know - for digitor's swag comment read sleeping bag. Peter

Ah yes, thankyou very much. Here SWAG is the alphabetism for Sweet Ass Goodies. I deal with a lot of Swag working for the radio station.
You're right I shouldn't be hard on myself, and I actually am not but more a little self conscious for some reason when it comes to my passion (photography). That and the fact that I love taking a really good photo that impresses people. I'll always get personal satisfaction out of it, and like a pic whether others like it or not, but I swell up in pride when others express admiration for it. Thanks for all the comments so far. BTW, I love your pics of ships, went to post comments, but it simply bumped me back to the home page. Makes me seriously consider saving for that lens.
Dooda. I'd posted the thread in the wrong area and asked Leigh to move it. You were probably posting while it moved. And yes it's one sweet lens. Peter

Hey Dooda what are the specs for this picture. BTW I love it. Makes me want to go bush for the weekend. Nothing like camping under the stars and waking up in the reeds!
