Last one went to a guy in HK, I exchanged a couple of emails with him and he loved it. Little bit rich for my taste, still waiting for the day I walk past a Cash Converters and see one in the window for $50  "Bloody old manual lens", I think for self respect I would still try and bargain them down

Once I'm backed to the US I'll see my friend who I swapped the lens few years ago.

Birddog, I would love to but with two Japanese and one HK bidders this will go well beyond my idea of good sense. I think it will get close to the 28 1.4 pricetag gray. It would be a very unique lens to have.

Just went back to see how bidding was gone and it's gone - "This listing (3880984912) has been removed by eBay or is no longer available"

That's what happened with this type of lens, this the third times I saw one similar lens disapperead after few bids.
Perhaps seller regret to sell it, or he/ she tempt to other interested buyers or just wants to see how's the reacation from market.
I knew one guy has it in real mint condition with box, manual and I once offered $2k but he doesn't want to sell it.
Not so many of them survived in mint condition, and it become rare gem by the day goes by.

So, he failed, by reason of poor timing.

Sounds good to me. :)
