Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Swell was fairly interesting on sat morning, hence there were quite a few keen surfers hitting the beach, it was great to see a mix of young, old and a woman on the boards.

The kid was ripping it up, damn youth and their energy ;)

Hi Gerry - I like that last best and then probably the first. Strangely though for both of them for me it's like their faces are oof (but essentially the rest of their bodies and the water (behind and somewhat in front? are quite sharp)

:agree: First and the last for me.

Curiously, with the third one I thought he was holding up a phone to take a picture then realised he was holding onto his board :rotfl2:

I like the 3rd shot. Good, tight catch on the face and spray.

It's about time you blokes did some sports action shots.

#1 Neat stuff with his tongue hanging...! Nice light as well.
#2 LOL@hair. Nice decisive moment there. I think I got a very similar shot but it was at 1/400 so slightly blurry!
#3 could be part of a series but not strong on it's own.

I can only assume this is a downsize issue, the waves and water droplets do come out very sharp which may contribute, i will have a look at the original focus point on the raw file.

Regarding teh lighting, you probably noted it as well, you had to get them at the right moment or else they were in the shadow of teh wave which made for a crappy image imo.
