Wreck of the GayundahThe Gayundah was a former Queensland Navy ship that was transferred to the RAN after federation. After surviving WWI she was converted to a gravel barge, then in the late fifties she was scuttled off the Redcliffe peninsula to be used as a breakwater.
This is what remains of her as of last week. This is what she used to look like in 1890: http://hdl.handle.net/10462/deriv/95134 TFF (Trevor)

Re: Wreck of the GayundahSeems to be in better condition than the Sygna wreck in Newcastle. Although I think they took parts of the Sygna away for recycling.
Re: Wreck of the GayundahAmazing. She went from
in 1912 to this in only 100 years. I quite like the treatment you have used in 2012 Perhaps, if anything, the white vignette is a little heavy handed for my taste Greg

Re: Wreck of the GayundahFixed!
Thanks for the heads-up Greg. TFF (Trevor)

Re: Wreck of the GayundahI like the timeless feel to this this quite a lot but would like to see how it was without the vignette.
Re: Wreck of the GayundahOnce again - this time with no vignette and a different historical image (copyright expired). I actually think she is better looking as a wreck :

Re: Wreck of the GayundahThe contrast is a little heavy for me, but i still personally prefer it to the other. I like the shot.
Re: Wreck of the GayundahI prefer the second contrasty version, but then I am a bit of contrasty bloke

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Wreck of the GayundahContrast is a bit much for me. I wonder how different monitors show contrast. Whether calibration helps with it?
