Nikon Rebates

Postby Geoff Marland on Mon Mar 14, 2005 1:38 pm

Has anyone any experience with Maxwell and rebates?

I'm been waiting a month now for my rebate on the D70 and haven't heard anything? Is it too early to chase them up?

Makes very interesting reading - looks like I'll just have to wait it out.

Thanks for all the responses.

And in the meantime Geoff start thinking about which gear beckons for the $200 + start posting and show us some images. Then by the time the $$$ arrives you'll be able to partake of the Bargains section :D

Sent in my rebate request on 17/02, and received the cheque in around 2 weeks. Quite impressed with them.

The D70 + 18-70mm & 70-300m ended up costing just under $1600; so I'm happy... All I need now is to find some $$$ for the SB-800!

To summarise, it's a lottery. It may be 3 weeks or 3 months. From what I've heard they just grab a handfull every so often and post them out. In my case the cheque was dated 12/2/05 but I didn't receive it until 2/3/05. I guess my envelope didn't get drawn out in the daily lucky dip :x

I hope that Nikon eventually realise that Maxwell are inept and replace this pathetic rabble by cancelling their agency and establish a direct presence in this country. Maxwell have managed to turn a photographic icon into an also ran in this country....

Rant over, I feel bettter now :o

Isent my claim in mid January, made a call to Maxwells late Feb and recieved my cheque this week. The cheque was dated about 3 weeks ago, just after I made the phone call?
Make a call, it mite help speed things up.

Maxwell got the cheques signed but they have to wait for clear funds available in their account prior to send those cheques out, my guess

My claim OK

Postby tasadam on Thu Mar 17, 2005 5:48 pm

I put my claim in via the online option in the first week of January. They replied within a week to say the claim was approved and a cheque would be posted within 2 to 4 weeks. It took less than 4 weeks, I was happy.

No harm in asking I say.

Well I finally received my cheque today, nearly six weeks to the day that I faxed the claim off.

The cheque was dated 22nd March.

Now all I have to do is decide how to spend it.

I had no problems with my Nikon rebate. Did the online option, they sent an email a few days later to say it had been approved, and I got the cheque 4 weeks later, which was yesterday!

The $200 goes towards the "camera fund".

I did the online option too but I didn't get an e-mail and called them after a 2 week wait. After that the rebate arrived in 3 days.
