Bleak, wet and cold @ Narrabeen

It was pouring rain last night and i normally would have just ditched the idea of sunrise, however I had to go up that way irrespective.

I almost did not even bother gettign out of the car

a few different styles, keen for feedback on whether it works or not...

The second is my pick although I would prefer to see more contrast and a pull back on the vignette.

Very keen - madness even - BTW: I did wake up in time - heard it absolutely pouring rain outside and well... you know the rest...

#1 works for me

#2 also (not as good as #1 for me) but agree it's too dark

#3 & 4 not so much sorry

Gerry - just love the first image! I'm hoping to soon get out there and shoot something similar to this to add to my 'new' abode in my bedroom. I'd be keen to hear what post you did to this one.

ha, its not often someone tells me more contrast i will have look reversing teh vignetting, most of which is as shot and see what eventuates.

from memory the major component to the processing was the desaturation, there was some selective noise reduction on teh water and clouds to smooth them a bit, however with teh long exposure and the fast moving low clouds the sky was going to be very grey and smooth. This was taken minutes after they turned lights off which makes a world of difference to the scene.

more pano croppage? I did get out of teh car then got back in...then got out again to take pictures..

The best thing about days like this is that you only a dozen or so images, makes processing and review a piece of cake.

I like the lot, all with different feel to them but all made me appreciate the scene.
