Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

I have my Canon EF 70-200 F2.8 IS ii up for sale. I don't think I can go through with it. I know I need the money to help pay for a vehicle purchase, but after once again seeing what this lens can do, I feel I'm going to have to find another way of funding. What do you think?

The love of my life for the last 30 years. (The woman, not the lens, in case you were wondering! )

Certainly not a lens I would part with lightly... remember though if current times require some sacrifice it's not as if a repurchase down the track is impossible.
Photography is not a crime, but perhaps my abuse of artistic license is?

simple...a lens like that is very unlikely to cost you more money in the future. A vehicle on teh other hand...damn money pit.

i will comment on the shots if i may ?
the first 2 are beautiful portraits. classicly composed and wonderfully executed.

my only minor gripe would be i think you've left too much room on top.

Point taken. I cropped these according to my iphone screen dimensions eg 960x640px, hence the added bit of space on the top of the image. I agree they would be better trimmed a tad.

The light was so good yesterday, I think anyone could have taken a great image even with a Box Brownie...

Actually Suren, I thought of the 85mm F1.8, which is an amazing lens in its own right. And relatively cheap. As for the 1.2, we can only dream.

Of course, there is always the 50mm 1.2...

If you keep the lens, you'll have to keep the camera, won't you?
If you keep the lens and the camera, you might as well keep everything else too... :?

Are you still thinking of going the Oly OM-D route? Just had an excellent dpreview review (if that is not redundant!)

I am selling the camera body for sure. I will still have the 24-105 F4 which I don't really want to part with. I need to think clearly on this as there is quite a bit of moolah sitting in the cupboard in an almost new 70-200 lens.

Yep, I have an order in for an OM-D, but no stock atm anywhere. Will have to patient on this one.
