Of races and rooster tailsOnce a year a race in the Offshore Superboat Challenge is held in Newcastle, with the race heading out to sea from Newcastle Harbour. This year it was the only race held outside of Queensland. Here are a few from race day (more HERE).

Re: Of races and rooster tailsNice session Peter, the last is my favourite but feels a bit over saturated from my end. I wish that helio was backlit against teh sky rather than the building! Any option to get lower for this shot?
any prangs? gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Of races and rooster tailsHi Peter,
The last would be stellar if you had the background blurred to make the boats and the helicopter standout.
Re: Of races and rooster tails
Funny you should say that Suren. I have already tried it and failed. it was too damn hard to blur around the helicopter without blurring the blades etc Peter

Re: Of races and rooster tailsPeter,
I was hinting that you use the 200 f2.8 Re: PS, I reckon it's doable, but will take significant time to make it look realistic.
Re: Of races and rooster tailsGreat shots....
in regards to selective blurring...try Focal Point. Cameron
