Maha C9000 Charger - No backlight

Postby aim54x on Thu May 17, 2012 3:28 pm

I am hoping this is the right place to place this. I know there are many C9000 owners on this forum, so I thought I would ask you all to check something for me. My C9000 (Purchased from Glenn - Wolf Eyes) seems to have lost its LCD backlight. I noticed this when I had to go and charge come batteries last night and instead of being greeted by that wonderful white backlight I had nothing...I had to turn on the light in my room to check the battery charge status.

Anyone else have a missing backlight? Mine seems to have died. I have been in contact with ProTog (aka Servaas Products) and they were happy to replace my unit provided I could come up with a purchase invoice and it was within 3yrs......

Something tells me that I never did receive an invoice from Glenn, and I am possibly outside 3yrs. However the unit seems to be working fine otherwise.

mine still works fine, however its pretty new (less than 12 months) The backlight is super bright, i would have thought a switch to switch it on/off would have been a sensible design addition.

I would be cautious about a dodgy charger or a potentially failing one - too many bad things happen when battery charging goes wrong - i know if guys who charge their lithium (different kettle of fish but..) in a fireproof safe or in the fireplace...

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

You must have the 'special force's version. No light to give your position away while you are recharging the batteries to your laser sight. Very collectable.

Cameron from my experience in electronics I can see no reason why the backlit lighting would have anything to do with the performance as a charger.
