Re: Last week weddingok, i will bite
great looking couple, great looking car, stunning location, golden sunset light and large f-stop lens (maybe 85 1.4 or 1.8 or a 70-200 2., if the picture was not OK you would not be doing wedding photography right? All the great elements are present and not necessarily a result of the photographer, the crucial element (s) that photographer brings is the timing, pose and the composition. The timing you have nailed (well it is just a kiss i suppose) and the pose is great, the hand in the pocket, the arm on the car door - perfect. The composition, well imo leaves a bit to be desired - they are smack in teh middle, there lots of useless space on the right hand side and the bright spot in the top right does little but draw the eye away. Composing with more of teh car and accentuating teh lines of the car to lead to the couple would have been better, placing the couple to the right hand side of the image thus also using the lines of the steps as well would make for awesome converging lines right to the happy couple.. since you have already taken the picture, a post production improvement in my eyes would be to crop from the right (taking some from the top and bottom too) and hence remove the distracting elements on the right hand side and really smack the viewer in the face with the couple. gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Last week weddingI'd agree... a cropping from the bottom right would strengthen the core elements of the shot... otherwise it is what it is... a typical wedding shot (and nothing wrong in that).
Photography is not a crime, but perhaps my abuse of artistic license is?
Re: Last week weddingThe open door is a serious distraction. Also, I would have taken a step closer. We don't need to see the OOF front of the car so much. Apart from that it is very nice and the couple will like it. Well done.
Regards
Matt. K
