What else to do when baby sitting?Ended up baby sitting for a friend last weekend so I took my D700 along with one of my favourite lenses ever, the 85mm 1.4.
This is Sam, 10 months old, full of life and fun! Critique/comments welcomed: Geoff

Re: What else to do when baby sitting?I just love #1, #2. Great face on the swing and the little feet crossed is precious. Do you charge for baby sitting and the portrait session?
Re: What else to do when baby sitting?1 & 2 are the best. 1 is perhaps a bit to
light on my monitor and I adjust the contrast, but that's all. Gorgeous subject!
Re: What else to do when baby sitting? Thanks guys.
Ian - it was one of my very best friend's and their kid, so no charge Geoff

Re: What else to do when baby sitting?I find the backgrounds a problem with these. I find them distracting.
Except #4 but oddly that one does least for me. I don't know why. Perhaps dull down the BG on #1 & it will be a winner. I love the pose in the last, but would like to lose that ?stereo? in the BG completely. Greg
It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: What else to do when baby sitting?I dont have a problem with the backgrounds in these (#3 excepted) as they hint at the enviroment of where the child is. Very nice images of what appears to be a very happy and content child. I bet the parents were stoked with them.

eat their food. Check them eyes, wow., serious blue stuff! I reckon teh first is a cracker, someone else mentioned teh BG, i agree, dial that back a bit also dial his eyes back - even if they are really like that. gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: What else to do when baby sitting?A great set of portraits! I also don't mind the backgounds - except maybe the reflection off the car's headlight in the third pic. You have done a great job of using the available light in all of these
