Slackline Walker

On my way home from work this evening I saw this dude walking a slackline. Stopped to have a chat and take some photos. Phil (the dude) has only been doing this for three months and is planning to walk a canyon not sure where or when but good luck Phil , a braver man than I.

Lovely light and compressed layered landscape in the distance. The colouring and light on him doesn't seem to match tho - this may even make him pop more off the background tho

I exposed the image to retain the b/g detail and therefore the subject was in Silhouette. In LR4 I used the shadow slider to bring back the detail and have applied a local brush adjustment to his face and left forearm (+0.3 exposure).

I like it, could you have gotten lower and captured him such that it appears he is more than a foot off teh deck?

i would do it...with a harness attached!, i would probably only get 2 steps but hey ...actually on second thought..nah i would sit on teh edge and drink beer and watch.

Would have if I could have. Light was fading pretty fast, and Phil who is a hang glider instructor, had to stop walking the line to see his students land in the valley below. Only managed to take three frames. The first was way too blurry with only a 1/15s shutter speed and the third he was lost against a b/g tree.
