Re: IrisBeautifully done. A lovely fine art work. Also a fine example of what can be achieved using natural light and a single reflector....a secret of the masters. The only negative to my eye is the image seems slightly off balance/awkward in the picture space. It needs about 15% more black space on the right hand side...a little trimmed from the left hand side and about 8% trimmed off the top of the image. I've just done this Photoshop and the image sits better and seems easier to look at. But then that's just my personal taste and I'll be looking forward to comments from others.

Matt. K

Re: IrisThanks for the feedback. I will try the suggested crop, maybe even a square crop?
Here is another flower, this time a Lilly. Both images were taken using the D700 and 105 micro. Fuji X-Pro1 | X-E1 | X-T1 | XF14 | XF23 | XF27 | XF35 | XF56 | XF60 | XF10-24 | XF18-55 | XF55-200 | MCEX-11

Re: IrisI love the composition of the second, but the lighting seems just a little flat.

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Re: IrisThe first photo is simply superb! The problem
with the second is that there are no contrasting colours so next to the first one it would appear lacking, when in fact is is also a very good photo in ists own right. I find red colours difficult to photograph and compimentary reds even more so. Try adjusting the colours vibrancy or perhaps the aperture in Camera Raw and see if there is a noticeable improvement.
