PotW September 18, 2012And this week, it's just the simplicity of this shot from Patrick.
Simple subject. Simple composition. Nice depth of field. Easy. Visit the original thread here. g.

Re: PotW September 18, 2012Simple yes - but it could tell several stories.

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: PotW September 18, 2012Yes, I like it for a number of reasons.
It's quite orginal, well framed, and the shallow depth of field makes your eyes go back to the subject and wonder why the zongs are there in the first place.
Re: PotW September 18, 2012Well done Patrick. I just wish they were a different type of thong ( someone had to say it)

Thanks everyone, and Gary for choosing this. Greg, I would have taken a photo of the better kind of thong, but I was wearing it.....(no, not even I want to imagine that).

Re: PotW September 18, 2012Gary
Made me look again at this image...a little more carefully. It's a quite little sleeper and I must admit I gave it scant attention first time it was posted. There is something compelling about it but I can't quite verbalise what it is. Just nice to look at does not cut it...there has to be a good reason. I think it is the multi lines of direction all gently forcing the eye to the apex of the left thong. There is a power in the lines that is reinforced by the depth of field ...which magnifies that visual power. That little dab of blue under the slats tends to catch the eye and push the vision back to the subject. This is a melodic image and has some wonderful elements in it. Patrick has an eye. Regards
Matt. K
