Daniel I bet you had a ball. #2 though very "picture postcard" is a pearler. #4 is a cracker as well - great perspective (leaning out the window?) but wow that bridge looks rickety. I also really like this shot of lake Louise from your gallery:

All great Daniel. What a fantastic part of the world, very photogenic. Both on my bucket list of places to visit in both summer and winter. Look forward to seeing more.

I would be very happy to call those shots my own. They are beautifully crafted, and although a bit cliche they have been executed nicely. I have a sneaking suspicion that #2 would work very nicely in mono.

Wow! +1 Great pix, especially Lake Louise. I went to Banff at a similar time of the year many moons ago, and have some similar pix to these on film. Only not as good. What I remember: - being scared witless by a moose on the Banff Springs golf course. Turned my 72 into about a 99. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! - a mountain climber perished on a slope just outside the Banff Springs hotel. Helicopters and paramedics needed to extract the body. - The scenery and wildlife are just spectacular. Great work - thanks for posting.

Thank you all. stubbsy wrote:#4 is a cracker as well - great perspective (leaning out the window?) but wow that bridge looks rickety.
It's always more interesting when the train turns back like that. I was standing on the platform at the end of the carriage (vestibule?). That bridge was fine, but we passed one that is no longer used (for good reason). stubbsy wrote:I also really like this shot of lake Louise from your gallery:
I took that around dawn, the lake was completely still. As the sky lightened the wind added texture to the water. Yes, there are a number of shots I quite like from the trip. Thank you. That is the problem when you follow the same path as so many tourist year after year. the foto fanatic wrote:What I remember: - being scared witless by a moose on the Banff Springs golf course. I never saw a moose. Wildlife seemed a bit hard to find. Normally the place is overflowing with wildlife. Before leaving to go we all heard about the hiker(/fool) who was killed by a grizzly up in the Denali national park. So that was something I was mindful of. I was surprised by the number of people who die climbing Denali (Mount McKinley) every year. Daniel
